For years, those who criticized SUVs as unsafe pointed to the vehicle’s tendency to “rollover” and hurt its occupants.  Recently however, a major new study by the National Highway Traffic safety Administration cast doubts on this assertion.  Comments Barry McCahill of the SUV Owners of America: “The government recently released results from new stability tests for rollover, and guess what?  SUVs got three and mostly four stars, and those are good scores – especially for the Chevy Trailblazer and Toyota Echo.  If you’re a responsible driver and use your safety belts, there’s no need to be overly alarmed about rolling over in an SUV.  Indeed, rollovers are less than three percent of all crashes, so despite critics claims otherwise, they’re a good, overall, safe and trustworthy form of transportation.  But drive responsibly!”
