Figuring out how to trim down your utility bill has always been tricky. But with a new “eco-dashboard” soon to be available to ratepayers in some southern and western states, the ability to save dollars may become a little easier. This according to an article on the website of Planet Ark, which notes that General Electric is making available a control panel designed to show ratepayers how much money they could save if, for example, they pre-cooled their homes, washed their laundry, or ran their clothes dryer before electricity prices went up during peak load times when prices are typically higher. Since experts expect this device to cut power consumption by an estimated 5 percent, consumers may be no longer in the dark when it comes to energy savings!
