You’ve probably heard time and again about how global warming is bad.  But now it appears a new study has shown that at least in one country, namely China, warmer times were better times.   According to the report, produced by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, droughts, floods, wars and the price of rice all increased during cooler periods between 10 A.D. and 1900.  In fact, the researchers noted there was a clear, positive correlation between cooling temperatures and the collapse of four important dynasties, which they say were brought about after low temperatures made agricultural work more difficult. One suspects studies like these will do little to convince the Chinese to jump on board a new treaty to prevent global warming.
