A German entrepeneur got around the EU ban on incandescent light bulbs over 60 watts by importing them as heaters from China. His shipment of 4,000 bulbs sold immediately. That makes at least 4,001 Germans who see the folly of restricting individual consumers from choosing their own preferred light. The bureaucrats may prefer their light ghostly, expensive and laced with mercury, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us shouldn’t be allowed to choose a warm pleasant light, emitted by Edison’s benign tungsten filament in a vacuum, at a price affordable to all. Großartig!
