For the third time in just two weeks, CFACT’s Marc Morano–editor of ClimateDepot.com–appeared on Fox News. This time, on August 16, he discussed the problems facing electric vehicles with Neil Cavuto.

In addition to dropping consumer interest, Morano said that “in the UK they are having trouble financing electric cars because of their rapid depreciation. . . . People are putting down $40,000+ on an electric car that’s gonna be obsolete very quickly.”

More importantly, electric cars are not as safe as regular vehicles because manufacturers are forced to make them as light as possible. “For every 100 lb. weight reduction,” said Morano, “it’s a 5% death rate increase in these cars.”
