Climate scientists hold new year’s sing-along trapped in Antarctic ice

Climate Depot describes it as a "clitanic disaster," but the global warming scientists and eco-tourists trapped in Antarctic ice held a sing-along to welcome the new year while awaiting rescue. 2013 was a year which rocked the credibility of the global warming campaign. It will take a long time for the closing image of warmists on ice to fade.

Defusing the explosive conversation on fracking

The myths about hydraulic fracturing (fracking) are myriad and cynical -- spread by haters of fossil fuels and by those who want to see the United States crippled as a result of shutting down the bulk of the traditional energy sector in favor of heavily subsidized "renewables" and forcing a massive shrinkage of living standards for most Americans (but not the elites). The truth is that fracking has evolved into a virtually benign operation that relies heavily on brackish water that is processed and often reused.

Antarctic ice blocks ice breaker sent to rescue climate researchers trapped in… ice

Will the dramatic spectacle of climate researchers trapped in Antarctic ice (which has expanded massively during 2013) help free the media of the false global warming ice narrative?

Putin pardons Greenpeace campaigners, keeps their boat (for now)

Russian President Vladimir Putin pardoned all 30 of the Greenpeace campaigners who were awaiting trial following their failed attempt to board a Russian oil platform, but still holds their ship. Do you think Greenpeace will choose Russia, or one of the free market democracies it so despises the next time it goes trespassing? Any bets?

Colorado monument designation would quash mining claims

Yet another effort to take away the mineral wealth of the United States in looming in Colorado, thanks to Sen. Mark Udall. Even worse, the Obama Administration could just speak the Browns Canyon National Monument and Wilderness Area into being, just as President Clinton robbed Utah of much of its mineral wealth via the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

Battle brews over proposed copper mine in Minnesota’s Iron Range

Plans by PolyMet Mining Corp. to open a copper and nickel mine in Minnesota are putting Governor Mark Dayton on the hot seat and dividing the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party just months before Gov. Dayton faces a reelection campaign in 2014. Green DFLers oppose the project, whereas Iron Range DFL members are among its strongest supporters. Demand for copper and nickel is soaring, and despite U.S. financial support for the Roy Hill Mine in Australia, the PolyMet mine would likely stimulate the local economy.
