A popular restaurant chain has cows encouraging people to “Eat Mor Chikin.” Now, one British bigwig is encouraging people to eat no meat at all. According to the Times of London, former World Bank economist Lord Stern says that people will need to become vegetarians to stave off terrible man-made global warming. On average, a British person eats the equivalent of a chicken breast or lamb chop portion of meat eat day. But since methane is 23 times more powerful a greenhouse gas than CO2, and animals like cows and pigs tend to expel a good bit of it, Stern actually looks forward to the day when people will think about meat eating with the same negative attitudes they have grown to have about drunk driving. Someone please pass the steak sauce.
