Politicized science “dumbing down” global warming debate

Is the science surrounding global warming being co-opted to serve a political agenda? Well that’s the troubling conclusion of MIT climatologist Dr. Richard Lindzen who says so-called “climatism” is the most prominent recent example of corrupted science. Writing in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, Lindzen describes how ambiguous statements from scientists are turned into alarmist ones by the media and advocacy groups, which then influences politicians to feed more research money to the scientists. He called this a “profound dumbing down of the discussion” and is troubled by how it even induces better scientists to join the pack to preserve their status.
