Left-wing mashup at the “March for Science”

Saturday’s “March for Science” dramatically illustrated that “science” is the last thing the global warming movement is about.

Yesterday I shared some of what I saw at the march.

Take a look at the classic collection of radical codswallop Marc Morano exposed over at Climate Depot.

Every politically correct, Left-wing fad of the moment was on display – all presented in the name of “science.”  It quickly became clear these marchers have no idea what science and its methods entail.  What they call “science” is nothing more than a rhetorical tactic designed to cut off thinking, debate, and free choice.  In short, “shut up and meet our demands.”

CFACT student leaders from George Washington University brought along a video camera and went on a search for people with an understanding of science at the march.  They posted their video to YouTube.

This coming Saturday is the “People’s Climate March” where those assembled will drop their scientific pretext still further and go all-in for the tired yet somehow again dangerous rhetoric of socialism.

If the radicals in our streets have anything to teach us, it is that our society needs to remember what genuine science is all about.  We need a crash course in history even more.

Mr Rothbard. About that science thing you mention. What does it say?

Rothbard laments that :”…our society needs to remember what genuine science is all about..” yet hardly 2 months ago intentionally misrepresents the findings of polar scientist Dr. Jonathan Day’s research. Shameful.

Mr Rothbard, do you have a
reply to this , on the evidence, eminintly reasonable and fair accusation?
Can you refute it? Or give a motive justifying it?

“yet hardly 2 months ago intentionally misrepresents the findings of polar scientist Dr. Jonathan Day’s research. Shameful.”

The only thing shameful here is your false attack on Mr. Rothbard. Day wasn’t even mentioned, so it is ludicrous to claim that Rothbard “intentionally misrepresents the findings” of Day.

And the latest peer reviewed science shows that Antarctic ice mass has been increasing, which is consistent with Rothbard’s statements.

“Ice Cloud and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) data (2003-2008) show mass gains from snow gains exceeding discharge losses by 82 ± 25Gt a⁻¹, reducing global sea level rise by 0.23 mm a⁻¹. European Remote-sensing Satellite (ERS) data 1992-2001 give a similar gain of 112 61Gt a⁻¹.” – Zwally(2015) ‘Mass gains of the Antarctic ice sheet exceed losses’

And the once warming Antarctic peninsula is now cooling!

“• We examine climate variability since the 1950s in the Antarctic Peninsula region. …
      • A re-assessment of climate data shows a cooling trend initiated around 1998/1999. …
However, a recent analysis (Turner et al., 2016) has shown that the regionally stacked temperature record for the last three decades has shifted from a warming trend of 0.32 °C/decade during 1979-1997 to a cooling trend of = 0.46 °C/decade during 1999-2014.” – Oliva(2017) ‘Recent regional climate cooling on the Antarctic Peninsula and associated impacts on the cryosphere’ – http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0048969716327152

And the multi-decade data on Antarctic sea ice shows that it has been growing too: http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/seaice.anomaly.antarctic.png

It’s so sad that you peddlers of climate alarmism are so ignorant of the actual science. But then, that’ why you were duped into believing the CatastrophicAGW-by-CO2 scam/hoax/fraud/lie in the first place.

“Day wasn’t even mentioned, so it is ludicrous to claim that Rothbard ‘intentionally misrepresents the findings’ of Day.”

        >> Incorrect. Rothbard promulgates the story line in this misleading Telegraph article which distorts the findings of Dr. Jonathan Day’s research:

Yet Day himself criticizes the coverage in the Telegraph article and how it conflates sea ice with land ice, and incorrectly casts doubt about the link between greenhouse gas emissions and global mean temperature:

If Rothbard were truly interested in promoting “genuine science”, he would have attempted to clarify the incorrect coverage in The Telegraph instead of repeating the same misleading and distorted message.

        • RealOldOne2 May 17, 2017 at 10:41 PM

          Blah, blah, blah.
Once again you fail to refute or show that anything that Rothbard said was wrong.

The fact that Jonathan Day is peddling rubbish pseudoscience is totally irrelevant to what Rothbard said in his article.

          Once any Ian5 FAILS.

Mr. Rothbard, ignore the trolls Ian5 and Li D. They have a shallow understanding of climate change.
