The carbon trading money tree
When it appears easy to make a lot of money from something simple then in all probability something is wrong. The economic rules which govern the world usually dictate that it is not easy to make a lot of money with not much effort.
-
The new robber barons
The new robber barons are not content with only taxes and debt. They are using other people’s hard-earned money to finance wind, solar, biofuel and other schemes that reward crony capitalist campaign contributors.while locking up centuries of vital energy resources.

500 police bust Deutsche Bank over €300 million carbon trading scam
Five hundred German police and tax inspectors raided offices and residences connected with Deutsche Bank in Berlin, Frankfurt and Dusselforf, Wednesday over allegations of conspiracy involving over €300 million in carbon trading tax fraud.
While a few profiteers will amass carbon trading fortunes, these schemes will not impact the climate in any meaningful way. Whether conducted legally or illegally, all carbon trading is a waste and a scam which cries out to be halted.

Government eyes crippling climate-control measures
CFACT in the Washington Times: EPA is ready to unleash its first wave of carbon-dioxide regulations. Congress wants to tax hydrocarbons and carbon-dioxide. The UN is trying to devise a new treaty to regulate energy at the international level. Even one of these actions would send shock waves through the economy. All three would be devastating.

Did Doha sputter – or succeed?
For those who believe humans are causing catastrophic climate change – or simply crave control over the world’s energy and “unsustainable” economic systems – Doha resulted in bitter failure.

UN takes concrete steps toward global tax
In Doha, Qatar late Saturday delegates attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change took concrete steps toward a new global treaty to address global warming that will transform the economic structure of the world with a new global tax. To be completed by 2015, the UN expects every nation to implement it by 2020, even though the globe has not warmed for the past 16 years.

Climate Tyranny Avoids Scrutiny at COP 18
It is unknown what the official U.S. response will be to the effort to get developed nations to ship bundles of cash to any undeveloped nation experiencing a hurricane, a typhoon, a blizzard, or any other “climate event.” In a cash-strapped nation about to “go over the fiscal cliff” did President Obama instruct U.S. delegates to go along with this absurd demand?
-
New Kyoto commtiment period adopted. Developed nations assigned liability for climate “losses”
COP 18 voted just minutes ago to create a “Doha Climate Gateway” and agreed to a second commitment period for the Kyoto protocol. The U.S. remains out of the protocol, now joined by Russia, Japan and Canada.
COP 18 inserted a “Loss & Damage Mechanism” into the final text which would require developed countries like the U.S. to pay poor nations for climate damages supposedly resulting from extreme weather events.
The U.S. and the developed world must not empower the UN to order damages against our nations when severe weather strikes.

Deadlocked talks go into overtime
The Doha climate talks deadlocked Friday, went into overtime and reconvened Saturday at 7:30 AM for an unscheduled extra day. Climate funding and CO2 targets divide nations rich from poor. Who speaks for freedom?

The misdirected tears of the Philippines
This week Naderev M. Sano of the Phillipines delegation made a tear-filled speech to COP 18 in Doha, Qatar. In contrast to the delegates wrangling for national advantage, the shameless rent-seeking of the carbon profiteers and the left-wing agendas of the radical NGOs, Mr. Sano projected a refreshing sincerity. Sadly, he is sincerely wrong.

Chanting for climate
Want to chant for climate? Forests? The environment? It’s cheaper than subsidies, wind turbines and redistribution and just as effective. Watch now.

Behind the scenes at COP 18
The COP 18 chieftains have instituted a “paperless” policy, depriving delegates of daily programs and copies of negotiating documents that keep them relatively informed. And while this policy has allegedly “saved” 217 trees as of yesterday (I know this because the U.N. keeps a running tally prominently displayed on electronic billboards throughout the conference site), it has angered many who find this policy a means to keep the public in the dark about the current status of demands and negotiations. The conference was supposed to wrap Friday, but we’re going into overtime.

Triple threat: UN, EPA and Congress
The triple threat to our energy, economy, jobs, living standards, health and welfare is justified by assertions that the actions will stabilize Earth’s climate and prevent a litany of global warming horrors.
We need to educate the public and start the debate before our fate is sealed for us.

Extreme weather debunked
There would be extreme weather if humans lived on Earth or not. With an arguable less than one degree Celsius of total warming, with no warming for the last 16 years, claims that human prosperity are causing extreme weather events are propaganda — nothing more.
Climate Depot’s Extreme Weather Report 2012 lays out the science, history and evidence in detail. The report thoroughly debunks extreme weather propaganda and lays open the hypocrisy of those who exploit natural tragedy for ideological gain.

Alice in Wonderland science
Climate propaganda regularly demands we accept impossible science.
“There’s no use trying,” Alice said. “One can’t believe impossible things.” “I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Especially with the Doha climate change confab in full swing, taxpayers, newspaper readers – and anyone dreaming of a better life through reliable, affordable energy – deserves more honest reporting and more science-based energy and environmental policies than they have been getting.

Sorry well funded young people, no warming for 16 years — like it or not

Environmentalist power trips harm poor countries
The real danger is treaties, laws, regulations and taxes imposed in the name of preventing global-warming catastrophes that exist only in computer models, horror movies and environmentalist press releases. These political schemes will exacerbate and perpetuate poverty, disease, unemployment and economic stagnation.

The climate camel – going nowhere, uncomfortably
A camel, as Winston Churchill used to say, is an animal designed by committee. The climate scare, like a camel, is an animal designed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Meanwhile, back at the Doha conference center, the climate camels were lumbering uncomfortably in all directions and getting nowhere.

CFACT’s Sequestration of exhalation masks a hit with UN in Qatar
WATCH NOW
“Every human being exhales about 2.5 pounds of CO2 per day and 7 billion people equals 14 billion(ish) pounds of CO2 daily that is exhaled. So this mask would filter CO2 from your breath. Which is kind of cool, because it would reduce your personal carbon footprint on the earth.” Would you be willing to wear that for a few hours a day? While you sleep? How about your children? Pets? -
Scientists at Munich conference challenge IPCC
Scientists and policy experts just completed a European climate conference organized to coincide with the UN conference in Doha, Qatar. ‘A complete economic transformation of the world’
Ms. Christiana Figueres, chief secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, told a press conference in Doha today that the 18th Conference of the States Parties would bring about “a complete economic transformation of the world.”
La Figurehead did not have in mind a free-market transformation. The intention of these 18 annual vacations – er, serious negotiations to Save The Planet – is what it always was: to create a treaty binding more than 190 nations to do as the Secretariat says. Democracy? What’s that?
-
Christiana’s nightmare – for the rest of us
Aside from the fact that someone (Al Gore, international bankers and their kin) will make a killing off any carbon trading schemes – and that the UN bureaucracy is seeking to pad its own employment rolls and pocketbooks – the sad reality is that none of the shenanigans at Doha (or at any previous or future UNFCCC dog and pony show) is likely to improve the well-being of the billions of humans in so-called developing countries one whit.

18 annual climate gabfests: 16 years without warming
DELEGATES at the 18th annual UN climate gabfest at the dismal, echoing Doha conference center – one of the least exotic locations chosen for these rebarbatively repetitive exercises in pointlessness – have an Oops! problem.
No, not the sand-flies. Not the questionable food. Not the near-record low attendance. The Oops! problem is this. For the past 16 of the 18-year series of annual hot-air sessions about hot air, the world’s hot air has not gotten hotter. There has been no global warming. At all. Zilch. Nada. Zip. Bupkis.

Does the UN have Africa in an emissions arm lock?
The rich kids are trying to push Africa around, bullying African countries into accepting their opinions and, even worse, adopting their “solutions.” Africa should resist the moral and psychological pressure being exerted on it to agree to binding limits on carbon dioxide emissions. Any such agreement would place African countries at the mercy of rich UN nations without any benefit accruing to Africa.

Qatar and the climate thieves

Canada being hoodwinked in UN climate process
By TOM HARRIS
Canada should purge climate alarmism from all government communications, especially those of Minister Kent. In Qatar the only solution that makes sense for Canada is to get out of the UNFCCC that spawned the Kyoto, Cancun, and Durban agreements in the first place. -

Morano debunks extreme weather climate propaganda
Campaigners are using natural disasters for climate propaganda as UN climate talks kick off in Qatar. Using storms as a poster child for global warming is completely devoid of science, explains Marc Morano of CFACT’s Climate Depot. “This has now reached the level of the Mayan calendar and Nostradamus.”

Marc Morano: The Godfather of climate skepticism

UN’s Green Climate Fund to cost you

CFACT takes on UN climate summit in Qatar
CFACT is headed to the Arabian Peninsula — to Doha, Qatar, for COP18, the UN Conference on Climate Change. The Obama administration is set to begin its first major UN climate negotiation since reelection. EPA already has crippling regulations lined up and ready to go to give the UN’s climate campaigners by administrative fiat what they could not achieve through the open legislative process. The main threat is that Obama will cut side deals and agreements in Qatar and then bypass Congress and its vexing checks, balances and democratic process.
Is there any limit to Presiden Obama’s renewed hubris? Would he, could he dare to use this Qatar conference to set the stage to bind the United States to a full-blown UN climate treaty and then use brinksmanship to push it through this Senate, or the next?
Follow every development as it happens on our Qatar action page,

The next environmental battlegrounds
When American voters reelected President Obama, they also returned his EPA, Interior and Energy Departments, and wide-ranging agenda for “fundamentally transforming” our nation. This will mean not only cementing Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, higher taxes, and rampant spending. It will also bring more disputes over energy and environmental regulations, the vanguard of Mr. Obama’s determined campaign to eliminate hydrocarbons that power our economy and embrace more “green” energy. The conflict will be fought primarily on six battlegrounds.

Tough election: what next?
Green extremists are already more emboldened than ever. Only minutes after his victory President Obama, who avoided global warming throughout the campaign like the pox, threw them a bone when he chimed, “we want our kids to grow up in a world…that isn’t threatened by the destructive power of the warming planet.” At CFACT, we have work to do.
