America in lockdown

CFACT Senior Advisor Paul Driessen documents how the Obama Administration has put the lid on economic growth by locking down oil and gas and minerals production on federal lands and watyers, then imposing heavy burdens on existing and planned operations -- all the while promising jobs creation only through federal subaidies for so-called "clean" energy that in fact has its own downsides (dead eagles and other birds, the need for rare-earth minerals that must come from China since he has locked down U.S. deposits from production, etc.). Moreover, his EPA is on a mad mission to control nearly every aspect of American society. Things must change if the youth of America can rekindle real (rather than false) hope for their future.

Is this any way to treat the job creators?

Energy expert Marita Noon notes that the U.S. economy has an awful record for jobs creation under President Obama, and gives "kudos" to the President and the U.S. Forest Service for their work in keeping people out of work -- whether it is the long-delayed Keystone Pipeline project or the FInley Basin Exploration Projecty in Montana, the strategy is delay, delay, delay -- so they cannot be blamed for saying No but will never say Yes.

The Clean Air Act: EPA’s charade to justify its war on coal plants

The Obama Administration, in particular via the EPA, is intentionally setting out to destroy the U.S. coal industry and to make Americans pay a whole lot more money for electric power. This affects people's quality of life and the very ability of businesses and industries to operate at a profit. The arrogance is such that they intentionally set barriers for compliance that are far out of the range of human possibility and state-of-the-art technology -- far above the old "Best Available Control Technology" which has been the EPA standard for decades.

Podesta appointment means government by fiat on climate, environment issues

President Obama's appointment of George Soros-backed activist John Podesta sends a clear signal that the White House is tired of being restrained by Congress and intends to govern by Executive Order on a wide range of economic and environmental issues. With a compliant mainstream media and an ineffective GOP opposition, he is likely to dramatically limit the possibilities for economic growth in the name of saving the planet.

If you like your light bulb, you can’t keep your light bulb

The U.S. used to be the "land of the free, the home of the brave." Today, government more and more tells us what we can and cannot do. We MUST purchase health insurance that we do not want or need or pay an increasingly large fine. We CANNOT purchase incandescent light bulbs -- period. Did Washington outlaw horses in order to usher in the automobile era? Did Washington outlaw the manual typewriter to encourage people to purchase computers? So why must Washington turn ordinary citizens into criminals for merely wanting to use their old technologies? Maybe somebody is making a profit?

Podesta hired to carry out the Obama Doctrine

Yes, oil, gas, and coal producers should be worried—and the individuals and industries that count on America’s abundant, available and affordable energy should be afraid, very afraid.

Lies my President told me

We all know the President lied (or, more favorably, "misspoke") when he said, "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period." We know the Administration totally fabricated the story that a silly YouTube video was the reason four Americans died in BenGhazi. So why should we be surprised as real-world data and the uncovering of official mischief demonstrate that the "global warming" (or "climate change") hysteria was built on lies and that the real intent was to create a cause celebre for redistributing the world's wealth?

Australia’s John Howard: One religion is enough

In his recent lecture before The Global Warming Foundation in London, former Australian Prime Minister John Howard addresses the "sanctimonious tone" of many to whom global warming has become a "substitute religion." An overriding feature of the debate, he notes, is the constant attempt to intimidate policy makers into following the party line that "the science is settled," when it is not. Rather than try to limit growth, Howard said, economists need to recognize that the world will have up to 2.2 billion new middle class consumers by 2030, and we need to provide goods and services for this emergent class.

The report of 2013 United States wildfires is “greatly exaggerated”

President Obama and the mainstream media are flat-out lying about wildfires in 2013. His brand-new executive order, Prearing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change, addresses an increase in wildfires -- but the number of wildfires in the U.S. through November 1 is the lowest in a decade, down 20% from the 2012 totals, and less than half the number and half the acreage burned as in 2006. What else are they lying about?

Obama issues global warming executive order

On Friday President Obama issued an executive order to millions of government employees to insert his global warming agenda into everything they do. Science and history are not on the President's side.

Electric vehicles and the lifestyles of the rich & famous

When President Obama first took office, he pledged to help put 1 million electric vehicles on America’s roads by 2015. But with little time left, not much progress has been made – and one of the reasons maybe the expense. . .

An Uncritical View Of EPA: Why I Agree With Obama

The IPCC now says we can conquer Mother Nature and end climate change if we just give them a LOT more money and power. Problem is, even though hardly anyone believes in them any more, they just might get the money and power away from us anyway!

DOE: Fossil fuels to dominate next 30 years

President Obama recently stated “We’ve got to look at the energy sources of the future.” And while he was specifically pointing to wind and solar power, it appears he’s overlooking what his own Department of Energy recently reported will dominate the next 30 years of energy production – namely fossil fuels.

Stop linking Syria to global warming

As President Obama has learned, the human calamity in Syria does not yield to easy solutions. Putting on a pair of climate blinders is the last thing we should do if we truly care about the suffering of the innocent in Syria.
