CFACT parachutes into Durban Climate Conference

Earlier today, CFACT's skydiving team parachuted past COP17 onto Amanzimtoti beach. The divers trailed smoke and banners proclaiming "Climategate 2.0, Science Not Settled" and "No New Treaty." Multiple media outlets showed up to record the event, including the AP, BBC, and South Africa's national news network. It was a huge success! Climategate 2.0 can not be ignored! The second batch of emails from scientists working on the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change contain shocking revelations which show an insular cadre of climate scientists coordinating efforts to place advocacy ahead of science, stifle dissent, and conceal information which detracts from a [...]

CFACT's Marc Morano, editor of Climate Depot, appears on the Alex Jones Show to discuss the fall of Al Gore as Gore's so-called Climate "Reality" Project flops. Morano pointed out that Gore's 24-hour telethon was "so atrocious, so offensive that even committed global warmists are bailing on Gore."

Morano unplugs Chevy Volt myths on Fox News

For the third time in just two weeks, CFACT's Marc Morano--editor of ClimateDepot.com--appeared on Fox News. This time, on August 16, he discussed the problems facing electric vehicles with Neil Cavuto. In addition to dropping consumer interest, Morano said that "in the UK they are having trouble financing electric cars because of their rapid depreciation. . . . People are putting down $40,000+ on an electric car that's gonna be obsolete very quickly." More importantly, electric cars are not as safe as regular vehicles because manufacturers are forced to make them as light as possible. "For every 100 lb. weight reduction," [...]

Morano on Fox News on collapse of global warming science

CFACT's Marc Morano, editor of ClimateDepot, appeared on Fox News to discuss the collapse of scientific support for man-made global warming, and specifically a new peer-reviewed paper by Dr. Roy Spencer that shows global temperatures have not been warming according to NASA satellite data. Morano said that as the man-made global warming fear is exposed as "sub-prime science,"  the alarmists will find other justifications because it "is a political movement at its heart. . . Al Gore is going to try to shift this into an extreme weather event. They are now going to say that every weather event from tornadoes, [...]

After pressure from Climate Depot, Gingrich ‘regrets’ Gore climate ad with Pelosi

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has officially flip-flopped about his 2008 Al Gore ad with Nancy Pelosi on global warming. Gingrich declared he now "regrets" making the commercial. Gingrich's announcement comes after months of pressure from global warming skeptics, led by Climate Depot. (See: Sierra Club's Carl Pope recognizes Climate Depot as Kingmaker: 'All seem to be mindful of the remarkable know-nothing standard set for GOP candidates by Marc Morano') The Hill – July 26, 2011 Excerpt: Gingrich regrets 2008 climate ad with Pelosi -- By Michael O'Brien - 07/26/11 -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Tuesday that he [...]

CFACT’s Morano on Sen. Inhofe’s growing influence

Marc Morano, editor of CFACT's Climate Depot website, was recently quoted in a National Journal article on Senator James Inhofe, the most vocal critic of global warming science and policy in the U.S. Senate. The following is an excerpt from the original article at National Journal: If Republicans control the Senate [after the 2012 elections], Inhofe will be more than chairman like he was under then-President George W. Bush from 2003 to 2006. He’ll be the leading voice in a chamber where the political consensus on climate change has splintered within the Republican Party. And in the absence of comprehensive climate [...]

CFACT’s Morano holds Gingrich’s feet to fire for climate position

"Climate change is pestering the launch of Newt Gingrich's presidential bid," reported E&E News' ClimateWire. The E&E reporter then proceeded to extensively quote CFACT's Marc Morano as the primary watchdog bringing attention to Newt's past position on global warming.Specifically, Morano has been holding Gingrich's feet to the fire for appearing in a climate fear ad with Nancy Pelosi. Morano is demanding that he recant and apologize, but so far Newt's spokesperson has said he will not.News outlets quickly pounced on the story, including the UK Guardian, Rolling Stone, The Washington Times, E&E News' Climatewire, and Fox News (see excerpts below).“Politicians like [...]

CFACT’s Morano on Fox News on climate and tornado link

CFACT's Marc Morano, editor of Climate Depot, appeared on Fox News to explain the absurdity of blaming tornadoes on global warming. Said Morano: "The idea that our SUVs are causing severe tornadoes is no better than in 1450 when Aztec priests encouraged people to sacrifice to the gods to end severe drought. We are going back to a primitive culture where we actually think we can affect the weather." Global warming alarmists blame any extreme weather event on climate change. As Morano pointed out, "Nobel prize winning economist Thomas Schelling wished for 'horrid things' like a lot of tornadoes in order [...]

Global warming “oops,” failures and persistence

The following article is an excerpt from the original posting at Orange Punch, a blog at the Orange County Register. Today, we’ll sign off with a brief round-up of Global Warming Oops Moments, failures and some of the movement’s most persistent foolishness. This would be funnier, if it didn’t cost you so much, and enrich so many schemers. (Incidentally, our items in this post are pulled from Marc Morano’s exceptional Climate Depot ezine newsletter. Congress bickers over biodegradable forks

CFACT's Marc Morano, editor of Climate Depot, appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto to discuss congressional Democrat's fight for biodegradable forks, knives, and spoons in the congressional cafeteria. Under Nancy Pelosi's "Green the Capitol" initiative, the flatwear in the Capitol's cafeteria was replaced with biodegradable utensils made from corn starch. They soon proved impractical, actually melting in hot soup and too flimsy to even eat a salad. Bipartisan complaints rolled in from all quarters. Now that the House is under GOP control, the "green" forks are history, and useful utensils are back in diners' hands. Some members of Congress, however, [...]

CFACT’s Morano explains on Fox News why Greens are happy with high gas prices

Marc Morano, editor of CFACT's Climate Depot website, appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto yesterday to discuss the recent spike in oil and gas prices in the wake of instability in the Middle East. Neil Cavuto asked why, instead of getting oil from Libya's Moammar Gadhafi and other Middle East countries, America doesn't drill for more oil domestically. Morano replied, "The Congressional Research Service just did a study of natural gas, coal, and oil. We have more than the entire world, we have more than China, Canada, and Saudi Arabia combined, but 83% of our lands are inaccessible for oil [...]

Washington Post compares Climate Depot to Drudge Report

Marc Morano is CFACT's editor in chief of Climate Depot, and he has been garnering extensive coverage lately. Last week he was cited in the Washington Times. This week it's the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang and Fox Nation. Today, Andrew Freedman of the Washington Post described Climate Depot as "the climate skeptic equivalent of the Drudge Report." Yesterday, Marc Morano wrote a story about how Al Gore, self-proclaimed inventor of the internet, had his website crash because it could not handle all the traffic it received after Drudge linked to it. That story was quickly picked up by Fox News, [...]
