CFACT’s Marc Morano, Director of Communications and editor of Climate Depot, appeared on Fox & Friends to respond to President Biden’s first State of the Union (SOTU) address.

Morano: “Joe Biden missed an opportunity to actually address America’s problem of his administration crushing American energy. He only mentioned the ‘climate crisis’ once. And I’m sure that’s going to upset climate activists. But what he failed to do was send a signal that America is open for business when it comes to energy. He wants American-made everything — except energy. And it just makes no sense. Russian oil imports are at an 11 year high. We’re importing 600,000 barrels a day from Russia. And Russia’s federal budget is 40% based upon oil and gas revenue.”

Morano: “So if Joe Biden wanted to do the most he could for Ukraine, he would, he would help American energy and make America energy independent. Instead, he sort of doubled down trying to talk about climate tax credits, and energy, just more of the same energy policy. And the Strategic Petroleum Reserve could do a few cent impact on gas prices. But it’s essentially using up our current reserve instead of making new energy, new oil. He missed the boat. America will suffer.”

Morano: “The Keystone wouldn’t have an immediate impact. But if you opened up pipelines, it would send a signal to the marketplace that America is opening up, it would show the marketplace which is based on the futures anxiety (of energy supplies) and it would lower the cost of energy. If only Biden would lift the restrictions that he imposed just the first week in office. So this nonsense about tax credits and fighting inflation will somehow affect climate and affect a hurricane 50 to 100 years ago. It’s just complete nonsense. But this is the world in which the Biden administration lives when it comes to climate and energy.”
