To protect endangered species, laws are sometimes needed to change or restrict human activity. But when it comes to endangered tigers in the Himalaya’s, it appears nature isn’t waiting for humans to get it together. As reported in the journal Science, tigers in the region have had to contend with an increasing human population in their habitat. In fact since 2010, human numbers around Nepal’s Chitwan Park have increased 55% – but this hasn’t hurt endangered tigers in the area, whose numbers also rose by 40%. And the reason? Because Tigers have changed their stripes, so to speak – and now spend their days sleeping, and nights prowling, just the opposite of what they used to do.
