Everyone knows that environmental groups oppose the construction of coal and nuclear plants – but do they also oppose wind and solar projects as well? The surprising answer is “yes,” at least according to a recent Chamber of Commerce Study which found a staggering 140 renewable projects across America have been stalled, stopped, or outright killed due environmental activism. Among these include efforts by the Wilderness Society, Sierra Club and Defenders of Wildlife to kill wind and solar projects in Oregon, California and Montana. The study concluded that it is just as difficult to build a wind farm as it is to build a coal-fired plant, with about 45% of all challenged projects now being “renewable energy.”
