When it comes to urging people to lower their carbon footprint, no organization is more outspoken than the United Nations. But is this international body hypocritical? Well one might think so after reading the fourth edition of “Moving Towards a Climate Neutral UN,” a publication that exposes how much the organization is putting out in greenhouse gas emissions each year. According to the report, the UN produces a whopping 1.8 million tons of carbon dioxide – an annual output roughly equivalent to 350,000 European homes. Since half of these emissions come from airline travel around the world, maybe it’s time for the UN to walk the walk if its going to talk the talk.
