Last night left-wing ANTIFA activists tried and failed to shut down a CFACT forum featuring Canadian commentator Lauren Southern.

Thanks to campus police for protecting the forum and letting the speech go on.

We are very proud of the way CFACT’s students conducted themselves and impressed by the articulate and persuasive commentary they offered the media.

After the forum, however,  things got ugly.

ANTIFA thugs were lurking nearby and attacked CFACT students as they left the event.

We posted details at CFACT Campus.

“Masked protesters waited until some of the police presence had died down after the talk by Southern concluded. They then proceeded to  mark and ambush departing CFACT event organizers. Nathan Amundson and Mitch Bendis, responsible for live streaming the event, were ambushed by a half dozen masked ANTIFA members as they left the venue loaded down with a large and expensive video camera and a box of event supplies.”

“When the CFACT students tried to go around the masked protesters, they were rushed, and a protester attempted to grab and smash the camera. Nathan was pushed to the ground and was punched by one of the protesters.  Since the masked protesters couldn’t reach Mitch, they spit on him and stole CFACT’s banner out of the box of supplies.”

“‘We were sitting ducks,’ explained Mitch Henders. ‘Soon we had a group of at least six protesters following us, filming and harassing us. I elected not to feed the trolls and continue minding my own business. Then, I felt a big gob of spit hit the back of my head. One of them spit on me. Before I could comprehend what happened, they shoved me and I nearly fell…I was completely overwhelmed. I didn’t know what to do. Luckily, my friend called the police and that scared them off.'”

Thanks to everyone who acted fast and made a generous gift to CFACT to help our students stand up for their civil rights.  You didn’t hesitate and neither did we.   Your support means everything.  We’re still closing the books on this one, if you haven’t yet had a chance, please make your tax-deductible donation now.

CFACT will not back down when civil rights are under assault.

Join us and say “NO” to leftist mobs and “YES” to free speech on campus.
