In a not-so-subtle attempt to malign the character of global warming skeptics, ABC News recently aired a report investigating alleged “death threats” and other acts of intimidation brought against climate change scientists by white supremacist groups and attempted to link them to the criticisms leveled at these scientists by global warming critics.  The ABC story, perhaps not coincidentally, was aired shortly after the Fourth International Conference on Climate Change in Chicago this past week, an event where hundreds of climate change scientists and experts gather each year to share findings which contradict the assessments of the U.N. and environmentalist organizations regarding the theory of manmade global warming.

CFACT’s Marc Morano, publisher of the highly acclaimed Climate Depot news and information service, appeared in the ABC report as the lone voice of dissent.  Morano noted that skeptics have also been getting death threats themselves for years, and that “No one is advocating violence, but it is refreshing to see these scientists hear from the public. When you go to a used-car salesman and you get conned … you don’t go back to the used-car dealer all happy and pleasant. You have a lot of anger, and that’s what these scientists are appropriately feeling.”
