For years, many environmentalists have criticized the use of genetically modified foods.  But according to author Greg Conko in his new book, The Frankenfood Myth, such concerns are based more on hype than valid science.  Comments Conko: “We took an in-depth look at what the environmentalists are saying, and found that it just doesn’t square with reality.  In fact, most scientists agree that biotechnology is actually safer than conventional breeding, because it is much more precise and predictable.  In the end, biotech will help us boost agricultural productivity and provide more nutritious foods that are safer for consumers and the environment.”
