Are American voters worried about an environmental crisis?  Well according to recent poll numbers, it appears not.  This, according to an article in Environment and Climate News which reported that on a list of nine concerns about which voters were polled, the environment came in eighth.  In one Harris poll, 70 percent of those interviewed felt good about the quality of the air, water, and environment in which they worked.   And as for  President Bush, who has been roundly criticized by Green groups, over 40 percent of the American public believe he is doing a good job handling environmental issues – which isn’t bad for a conservative.  Apparently alarmist concerns about the state of the planet haven’t polluted public opinion.
