Does the media provide us an accurate picture of the global warming debate? Well not according to a new study by the Media Research Center, which examined news coverage of the issue and found a distinct bias. Comments Free Market Project spokesman Dan Gainor: “We found most network news-shows hardly even admit there’s a scientific debate on global warming or the Kyoto Protocol. Collectively they only did so only 9% of the time. NBC was the worst of all five networks studied as it took a pro-Kyoto view in 30 of its stories and only presented opposition in 3%. That’s a ratio of 10 to 1. Since satellite data indicate no warming is taking place at all, it’s clear the data deserve more news investigation, not more hot air.
