When news came out that a region of Belgium called Wallonia had approved a tax equivalent to more than $20 per session for the right to barbecue on an outdoor grill due to concerns about global warming, people worldwide stopped and took notice. As it turns out, the report was later said to be an April Fool’s Day joke, and the government of Wallonia has been busy denying the story. But the fact that so many people initially believed it shows just how far global warming alarmism has come. Ironically, the report said local officials were going to use thermal sensors to monitor compliance with helicopters – which of course, put out just a few CO2 emissions of their own!
