Has the hype surrounding the use of plastic bottled water containers gotten out of hand? Well according to Angela Logomasini of the Competitive Enterprise Institute the answer is “Yes,” and she has this to say: “Hype about the environmental impacts of bottled water has produced some ridiculous responses. In Salt Lake City, the government actually denies firefighters the right to bring bottled water to fire scenes. Then there’s the United Church of Canada. It actually issued a resolution urging its members to stop buying bottled water. We can thank radical environmentalists for all this craziness. First they launched unwarranted attacks on tap water safety, leading people to bottled water. Now these same groups are doing the same thing to bottled water for good reason.”
