Does Al Gore practice what he preaches when it comes to living an environmentally friendly lifestyle? Well according to Peter Schweizer of the Hoover Institute, it appears Mr. Gore’s lifestyle is indeed a contradiction: “While Al Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he lives in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Tennessee, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Virginia. Although local utilities offer him the option to use renewable energy, Gore has not signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. He also owns and profits from stock in Occidental Petroleum, and he receives $20,000 a year in royalties from a zinc concession on his property that has been cited for adding pollutants to the nearby Caney Fork River.
