With sky-high oil prices and growing demand for energy, one answer that’s increasing being looked at around the world is nuclear power. This, according to the Environmental News Network, which reports that Britain’s Labor Government, which considered nuclear power unattractive as recently as 2003, recently gave the go-ahead to a new generation of nuclear plants, with four new reactors planned for operation by 2017. In Sweden, a recent poll found that nearly half of all Swedes now support building reactors in a country which voted to scrap them in 1980. With the U.S., South Korea, and others also looking to expand nuclear, this could be a glowing renaissance for this big power producer.
