While many believe the Antarctic ice sheet is melting at a rapid rate because of global warming, a new report by the Science and Public Policy Institute begs to differ. Comments study co-author, Bob Ferguson: “The behavior of the Antarctic cryosphere is not well understood or explained. Sea ice extent is growing at a record rate, and land ice may be shrinking. It is not known whether either of these trends will continue. Importantly, neither matches the climate model projections offered by global warming proponents, and current changes do not well-represent the recent past. There is no firm scientific basis to predict or account for Antarctic snow and ice variability, and statements to the contrary are ill-founded.”
