Do leading environmental spokesmen oppose our market-based economy and want to lower our standard of living? Well the strange answer maybe “yes,” at least according to Steven Milloy of Junkscience.com, who recently wrote a column for Foxnews.com about this subject and has this to say: “If you need evidence that the Greens want to lower our standard of living, you need only look at a recent issue of New Scientist magazine — the cover of which reads, ‘The Folly of Growth: How to stop the economy killing the planet.’ This edition carries eight articles by leading Green spokesman all saying that if we are serious about saving the Earth, economic growth must be severely limited. It seems the environmental movement has finally decided to come clean with its antipathy towards market capitalism.”
