While earth-friendly politicians and activists rally to save the world from alleged global warming, one leading scientist in Canada believes the real threat we face comes from dangerous global cooling. Writing in Canada’s National Post, Dr. Timothy Patterson, director of the Geoscience Centre at Carleton University, says that by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest solar cycle of the past two hundred years, likely leading to unusually cool conditions on earth. He explains that many scientists now see solar output as the most significant cause of climate change, and that by comparison, variations in carbon dioxide levels show little correlation with climate on long or even short term time scales. Sounds like a dose of cold water on all the warming hype.
