Last week we wrote to you and asked for help to send a search and rescue team to Japan. Today Dahlia from CARITAS asked me to thank you for your support and to inform you that their five member SAR team and certified live person finding dog are on the job, saving lives.

CFACT and CARITAS have always been, in myriad ways, about helping people. We’ve been partnering with them for years bringing aid and opportunity to Mexico and can attest to their hard work and effectiveness. We are honored to work by their side.

We reached out on Friday and within hours you brought us nearly 50 percent to our goal. Some people watch tragedy unfold on television. Others, like our great CFACT supporters, take action. Thank you.

The SAR team pictured above is hard at work saving lives, and continues to need your financial support to cover housing, meals, and other logistical issues. Please consider a generous gift to help the SAR team continue their life-saving work.

On behalf of everyone at CFACT and CARITAS, on behalf of our friends in Japan who need a helping hand, thank you.
