Is economic growth good for the environment? PhD economist Dino Falaschetti, Executive Director of the Property and Environment Research Center, says yes, and here explains why: “People say we have to make a choice between promoting growth and protecting the environment, that we can’t have both. But there is no dichotomy here. They are the same thing. Growth is green. What is economic growth? There is as much stuff on planet earth as there has ever been. Why are we so much richer today than we ever have been? It’s because we are making more with less. That is the only way you can have sustainable economic growth. And more with less is the essence of protecting the environment.”
