The falsehoods spoken by President Joe Biden’s administration on a range of major policy topics are not merely the bumbling ramblings of our nation’s first octogenarian president. They constitute deliberate administration strategy established by him and dozens of his senior political appointees who are more than willing to gaslight the public to advance their agenda.

The climate agenda is a salient example, with the latest basket of lies expressed about the horrific wildfires on the island of Maui in the state of Hawaii. Lying about climate science, the impact of carbon emissions, or cause-and-effect weather events is the means to an end, that is, to transform the nation not just from traditional energy usage, but Americans’ lifestyles. If it takes exploiting the tragic deaths of Americans, all the better for the Biden team.

If one were unfamiliar with the climate change agenda, the fact that President Biden and his senior team provably have lied so often about so many issue areas, one can and should easily assume likewise about climate.

The major issues built on falsehoods include but are not limited to President Biden’s triumphant claims about the economy with the highest inflation and interest rates in decades, the effectiveness of Covid vaccinations, his military surrender in Afghanistan, his claim no politics are involved in prosecuting his predecessor, and his denial of having any involvement in his son’s influence peddling “business.”

Which brings us back to climate change. In keeping with President Biden’s assertions on the economy, national security, public health, and the administration of unequal justice, his climate declarations are no less brazen as falsehoods.

From the beginning, President Biden has warned that the planet faces an “existential threat” from a changing climate, meaning a higher average global temperature allegedly due to carbon emissions (while ignoring a range of other planetary phenomena). He has since taken numerous actions to thwart fossil fuel development and use, and to expand useless wind, solar, and electric vehicle mandates. Every major storm that comes along, the president never fails to blame on climate change.

The horrible and deadly wildfires on Maui may be the most extremist example of perfidious climate exploitation. John Podesta, a long-time Democratic operative and currently the president’s man in charge of doling out billions in tax breaks and government grants from the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, said:

All of us have watched in horror as the Maui fires have claimed over 100 lives – the largest loss of life of a fire in the last 100 years in America. To stop these [weather] disasters from getting even worse, we have to cut carbon pollution that’s driving the climate crisis.

To blame the Maui fires on climate change is a shameless lie and political exploitation of the worst sort. And claiming the planet is warming over carbon “pollution”— upon which life itself is dependent—is absurd.

The facts of the matter are that the wildfires are the fault of government officials and the Hawaiian Electric Company, the latter of which failed to power down electrical equipment in advance of a major storm, resulting in downed power lines igniting vast areas of unmanaged, dry, grasslands throughout the island.

Exacerbating this fire tragedy was the incompetence of Hawaiian government bureaucrats that failed to maintain grass and wilderness areas over time, and to sound the emergency management system and release water in a timely manner to mitigate the fires and spare dozens of lives lost.

None of these facts impede politicians such as Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts, the lead Senate sponsor of the original “Green New Deal,” Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, and Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois from blaming climate change and calling for President Biden to declare a “climate emergency”. As I’ve written, such a declaration is a dictatorial power grab that would undermine democracy itself.

What is emphatically NOT the cause of the Maui tragedy is “climate change” and none of these Biden officials and senators have offered a scintilla of science to back their claims. Rather, drunk with their power and by scaremongering on climate, they are determined to exert greater control over Americans’ livelihoods.

How can politicians continue to exploit the death of people and ignore genuine science to advance a political agenda? That famous television character, J.R. Ewing summed it up: “Once you give up integrity, the rest is a piece of cake.”
