America’s “National Climate Assessments” are alarmingly shameless propaganda pieces that push political narratives over sound science.
The federal government has issued five of them. The first big debut was in the year 2000.
The goal of these assessments is neither to guide, nor inform, but to frighten us all into submission.
David Wojick reports at CFACT.org that all that may be about to change:
“The Trump administration had zeroed the GCRP, but now they are reviving it with leading skeptic Matt Wielicki running it. So, a skeptical NCA is in the offing… Logistically, the alarmists who have experience building a prior NCA are unlikely to want to work on a reality-based version, so a whole new team must be built.”
Dr. Wielicki served as a professor of geological sciences at the University of Alabama. In 2023, he left his teaching position and became a data-driven advocate of climate realism. Check out his writings at his “Irrational Fear” Substack.
The climate/Left, as you might imagine, is apoplectic. Dr. Wielicki has braced himself for the coming barrage of personal attacks.
HQNewsNow immediately slandered him as a “denier” on X, to which Wielicki replied, “Every time someone calls me a ‘climate denier,’ I have to ask: How exactly do you deny a noun? Can you deny baseball? Can you deny grass? Can you deny mountains? Climate exists. And if you’re asking whether I deny climate change, then you’ve clearly never listened to anything I’ve said.”
Greenpeace U.K. called President Trump’s appointment of Dr. Wielicki “an existential threat to the future of life on Earth.”
The Guardian quotes Carlos Martinez of the Union of Concerned Scientists saying, “Our country cannot afford a compromised USGCRP or NCA that peddles politically motivated disinformation echoing fossil fuel industry talking points.”
“Denier?” “Fossil fuel” conspiracy theories? Both appear on page one of the Left’s climate narrative handbook.
Fortunately, Dr. Wielicki appears well prepared for the outrageous slings and arrows headed his way.
For instance, he posted on X: “Europe is supposedly warming faster than any other continent. Maybe that’s true. But does anyone else find it odd that the region with the highest concentration of climate activists, climate policies, climate conferences, climate taxes, and climate emergency declarations is also the place allegedly warming the fastest?”
Dr. Matthew Wielicki is a dedicated scientist who is prepared to debunk the Left without fear.
