What greater evidence could we present of the continuing collapse of the Left’s climate narrative than India’s withdrawal of its bid to host the UN’s big 2028 climate conference?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered to host COP33 during the UNFCCC climate summit in Dubai.
The “BRICS” nations backed India’s bid in July, 2025.
Now India wants out. Modi’s government informed the UN that the world’s most populous nation and third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases (if that’s your thing) is dropping its bid to host UN COP33. India is on track to emit more greenhouse gases than the U.S. around 2030.

India, “a country that the entire architecture of climate financing is supposedly built to help, just declined to host the party. If climate summits worked as advertised, that would be unthinkable…
“The truth is India has run the numbers on the cost of a net-zero energy transition for a population of 1.4 billion climbing out of poverty, and it does not like what it sees. The notion that India should shackle its economy by adhering to restrictive climate policies, while its people still grapple with energy deficits, is illogical and morally indefensible.”
Vijay reports that India has dropped any real pretense of reaching “net-zero” emissions. India does not see any value in it and refuses to bear the pain.
With India out and emitter number one China playing the world on climate the entire time, it certainly underscores how ridiculously futile painful climate policies in Europe, America, Australia, or Japan continue to be.
