While owners of SUV’s might feel they are being pressured to give up their favorite vehicle here in America, over in England the war to clamp down on these popular vehicles is in full throttle. Most notable is a new law that places a hefty 53 dollar a day tax on individuals driving into the city’s central zone. The initiative is far more ambitious than legislation going through Parliament to curb greenhouse gases by 60 percent by 2050, and will grant no pardon for those who actually live in that part of the city year round. Since this means Londoners who own SUV’s will have to ante-up a whopping $13,980 a year for the privilege of leaving their driveway, it’ll be interesting to see how this new global warming policy will roll with London’s motorists.
