obamacicParis is currently hosting a UN conference aimed at waging war on climate change little more than two weeks after suffering the largest terrorist attack experienced in France since 1944.

Declared by President Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, and other major administration players as the “greatest global threat,” we can only wonder how many civilized world citizens recognize the colossal dimensions of this frightful delusion.

Adding symbolic irony to this tragedy, Al Gore was forced to suspend his 24-hour climate alarm webcast in front of the subsequently darkened Eiffel tower just hours after those deadly attacks occurred.

Intended to promote the Paris conference, the event was to feature appearances by Elton John, Pharrell Williams, Florence and the Machine, and other headlined performers.

But then, once again the “21st Session of the Conference of the Parties” (COP-21) Paris conference represents our “last chance” to save the Earth from climate terror.

In 2009 EU Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas proclaimed that a UN Copenhagen conference was “the world’s last chance to dimasstop climate change before it passes the point of no return.” In 2001 Time magazine said that the UN’s Bonn conference was “a global warming treaty’s last chance.”

The goal of this latest last chance conference is “to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below” 2º C, or 3.6º F.

So to help avert a climate crisis President Obama promises to cut U.S. greenhouse emissions between 26% and 28% below 2005 levels. Based upon provably flawed models, compliance by all nations will reduce global temperatures by a total of just 0.17º C (0.306º F) by 2100.

Our same President burned thousands of gallons of carbon-emitting fuel in September, jetting 4,400 miles to be photographed in the Alaskan wilds and warn against climate change. One photo opportunity was the melting of ice in Glacier Bay.

antarcticThat ice has actually been thawing since about 1750, long before the beginning of the Industrial Revolution led to major fossil fuels use.

Tweeting from the White House website Mr. Obama wrote, “It’s never been more important for us to address this challenge.”

Never mind that Antarctica is actually gaining ice, not losing it, and that the North Pole has never been ice-free in summer as Al Gore claimed it would be by now.

Let’s be grateful if human CO2 emissions truly matter, those jets and limos spewing the stuff en route to and from the Paris fear fest may possibly delay the coming of the next ice age by a microsecond or two.

According to regular patterns over the past few hundred thousand years, there’s a 75% chance this next in a series will arrive in about 3,000 years.

But then again, we may not need to wait hardly at all for a big freeze to rescue us all from global warming perils.

Many reputable recent studies linking shifts in sunspot frequency and climate changes over thousands of years suggest that current flat global temperatures may be a prelude to a much longer cooling cycle lasting several years or decades.

aaasunWhile solar output typically goes through 11-year cycles with high numbers of sunspots seen at their peak, we are currently approaching the peak of “Cycle-24” with numbers running at 100-year lows . . . less than half of those observed during other 20th century peaks.

Average European temperatures fell by 2º C during a weak “Dalton minimum” cycle between 1790 and 1830.

And let’s remember that harsh winter temperatures and shorter growing seasons are nothing to wish for. Cold causes far more deaths and disruptions than heat, and humanity has always prospered most during warmer periods.

So what is all this present climate urgency about? Last May President Obama told graduating Coast Guard cadets that “climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security . . . and make no mistake . . . it will impact how our military defends our country.”

Yet somehow this commander of chief failed to comment on Russia’s reason to display 40 icebreakers just off the Alaskan coast while he is thinking of adding two — yes two — to the American fleet.

He also neglected to explain how climate change will influence his strategy to confront five Chinese warships, including three combat vessels, one supply ship, and one amphibious landing ship operating at the edge of Alaskan waters.

Meanwhile, according to Obama’s interview on CNN just the day before the Paris attack that killed 129 defenseless civilians and wounded hundreds more, the ISIS threat has somehow been “contained.” Explain that to their grieving families and friends.
