Far Left candidate Jamaal Bowman appears poised to follow in the footsteps of his neighbor, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, by winning a primary upset against a member of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s leadership team in a district comprised of the Bronx and surrounding suburbs.

House Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Eliot Engel has been in Congress since 1989.  Initial returns showed Bowman ahead of Engel 61.8% to 34.9%.  Some media outlets have already called the race for Bowman, who made an (almost) victory speech, although the final results are delayed until June 30th when a large number of absentee ballots will be added to the tally.

If, as seems likely, Bowman’s numbers hold, AOC and the squad will have a new ally who’s all-in with what he calls a “Global Green New Deal,” Socialized Medicine and the rest of their radical agenda.

“My policies align with Socialism, so I guess I’m a Socialist,” Bowman told an interviewer.  Bowman is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and was endorsed by avowed congressional Socialists Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders the “Justice Democrats,” and a host of political pressure groups that were created to push the Democratic Party further Left.

On Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of her squad Bowman said, “I mean they’ve broken though the glass ceiling, I mean we’re talking about four women of color existing within a white supremacy patriarchy and just destroying it left and right by speaking truth to power. They created a platform.”

Bowman would “defund the police” and reallocate the funds for “collective actualization.”  He declared that “Donald Trump and those who support him are definitely racists.”

Jamaal Bowman is confident that should Joe Biden win the White House, that the Left will be able to control him.

“We have to hold him (Biden) accountable to the progressive values that we all are fighting for and make sure that he moves in the direction that the majority of the American people want. The majority of the American people support universal healthcare through healthcare for all, they support a Green New Deal and a federal jobs guarantee, they support fully funding our schools, its about pressuring him and mobilizing to push him in a direction that the American people want.”

Jamaal Bowman served as principal of the public Cornerstone Academy for Social Action (CASA) Middle School in the Bronx, which was plagued by poor student performance.

About 90 percent of his pupils failed to meet standards on the state math exam in the 2017-18 academic year, according to the latest annual data available from the city’s Department of Education.

Bowman attacked the tests as racially biased:

“America was born of horror for black people and that horror continues today for brown and poor people as well. Slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, crack cocaine, and now standardized testing were all sanctioned by the American government,” Bowman wrote in a now-deleted 2015 blog post. “All designed to destroy the mind body and souls of black and brown people; All within our so-called democracy.”

Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, and the “Squad” in the House of Representatives appear poised to gain a new spokesman hailing from the deep roving, politically correct Left.

Unless Rep. Eliot Engel is saved by an unlikely absentee ballot turnaround, you’ll be hearing a great deal more from Jamaal Bowman.
