CFACT students were recently back out improving the planet with another litter cleanup. Driessen Fellow HaiAn Hoang from the University of Houston Downtown organized a group of youth to clean up trash at the Dawson-Lunnon cemetery in Bayou City.

Half a dozen students took part in the project, which resulted in the removal of a dozen bags of garbage. This graveyard is a state historical site. It’s a black cemetery dating to the mid-nineteenth century when a freedman bought seven and a half acres, which would eventually become the Dawson-Lunnon cemetery that is known today.
