The Small Business Freedom Alliance (SBFA) invited CFACT President Craig Rucker to address its local members at a breakfast gathering in Winchester, Virginia held on Wednesday. Approximate 40 people were in attendance, including Virginia House of Delegates member Delores Oates as well as a staff member of Virginia’s Assistant Attorny General Kari Kolar. They gathered to listen to Rucker deliver a stinging indictment of climate change alarmism and the Green New Deal, as well as heap praise on Donald Trump’s efforts to roll them back.
“Both climate alarmism and Green New Deal are based on a flawed philosophy of ‘sustainable development’ that sees the world as a finite pie and headed toward an apocalyptic demise,” Rucker said. “In truth, we are living longer and healthier lives than at any point in human history and the climate alarmists have been shown to be demonstrably wrong on virtually all of their prognostications of gloom and doom,” he added.
Joining Rucker was CFACT student activist, Chris Martz, who is currently studying meteorology and working summers interning with the organization. Martz has an X (Twitter) following of over 119,000 people, including many celebrities and scientists, and spent time talking and answering questions with the many folks who surrounded Rucker and Martz after the speech was concluded.
The SBFA chairman, Joshua Phelps, was especially pleased with Rucker’s talk. He said, Rucker’s presentation was “perfect” for this small business crowd, who really enjoyed it and would like to see him or someone else from CFACT come back again.
