For years, residents of the impoverished village of Manjargaon village in Badnapur Taluka struggled to get fresh drinking water. But no more.

Thanks to CFACT’s “Stewardship in Action” program, Manjargaon’s citizens will no longer have to CFACT drills up potable water for impoverished India village 1walk long distances to carry their water but can simply walk down to their public square and open a spigot. An opening ceremony was held to dedicate the new well, and dozens of residents, organized by CFACT’s point of contact Pastor Ramesh Ghodke, turned out to thank CFACT, fill their pots with water, and offer up a prayer of gratitude.

The ”Stewardship in Action” project was developed by CFACT in the early 2000s to showcase how private initiative and private property rights can be tapped to meet many of the world’s pressing environmental problems. The project in Manjargaon marks the fourth time CFACT has invested in bringing fresh drinking water to impoverished villagers in India over the last five years.
