Time to rip out your air conditioner!
That’s the word from leading French Socialists.
Marc Morano posted that Emmanuel Grégoire, the Socialist mayor of Paris, proclaims that “individual air conditioning is a scourge… it makes the problem worse by heating the city even more.” Grégoire thinks we should shift to “cooling collective spaces,” because “we need to change our way of life.”
Meanwhile, China is going full-on Fonzie, with 1.4 billion Chinese opting to live way cooler than 69 million sweating French.
The International Energy Agency projects that 85% of Chinese households will be air conditioned by 2030, more than double the 40% who kept cool in 2018.
The people of China are putting all those coal electricity plants their government built to good use.
What a surreal world we live in, where the Chinese Communist Party lets its people choose for themselves how to cool their homes, while Euro-Socialists mandate away comfort in the capital which once proclaimed everyone’s rights to “liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.”
