Selected Excerpts:

Marc Morano: They are literally looking at the United States and saying, ‘You caused this heat wave with your air conditioning.’ Ergo, the French ministry just released a statement essentially saying we don’t want to run air conditioning because the more we use it, the more we’re going to create heat waves, and the more we’ll need it in the future.

So Europeans, Parisians, the English, Germans — they’re all suffering during heat waves because they’re looking at the United States and thinking we caused their heat waves. When in reality, if they’re going to blame a heat wave on emissions, they’re going to blame China; you’re going to blame India, which is where all of the future emissions are coming from.

But there’s no reason to do that, because heat waves are not increasing in the United States. It’s a simple matter of development and coping with the heat. This is a scary climate ideology.

The socialist mayor of France actually said individual air conditioning is a scourge and that we need community or collective cooling spaces instead. The LA Times and The New York Times have all said the same thing about America: They don’t want us to have air conditioning; they want us to go to a gymnasium when it’s hot and cool off with everyone else. Imagine how well that would go in a place like Los Angeles, when they can’t get crime, homelessness, and drugs off the street; imagine being forced to go into collective cooling spaces.

They are completely devoid of facts. Cold weather kills anywhere from 8 to 20 times more people than hot weather. So the idea that heat waves are unprecedented and killing us is not true. We have seen a 90% drop in extreme-weather deaths over the past 100 years.

It’s a very simple concept: They need to stop restricting or banning air conditioning. England is doing the same thing. England is forcing individual homes to remove air conditioners because they’re not compliant with net-zero requirements. MIT did a study 2 years ago, saying that heating contributes more to net-zero emissions. MIT called air conditioners a ‘magical’ technology. It’s not that complicated. It’s been around for a century.

We need to allow development and technology to flourish and reduce human suffering, rather than ideology. A different socialist Paris mayor 2 years ago banned air conditioning for Olympic athletes. Do you remember how that went in order to reduce the Olympics’ carbon footprint? The athletes wouldn’t have it; they ended up having to get diesel generators and window air conditioners, and they had to fly them in by plane and truck.

It’s an anti-human ideology that’s gripping, particularly in Paris and much of the European continent.
