Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein promised to prosecute the oil company ExxonMobil for “lying” to the public about global warming.
Stein’s promise comes after Democratic lawmakers have been urging the Obama administration and state attorneys general to investigate Exxon for allegedly misleading the public about global warming by funding groups skeptical of government climate regulations.
Stein is running for president as the Green Party nominee. The Green Party is a left-wing party focused mainly on environmental issues. The first plank of her presidential platform is a “Green New Deal” to “turn the tide on climate change, revive the economy and make wars for oil obsolete.”
Stein promises to accomplish this by initiating “a WWII-scale national mobilization to halt climate change” and creating “20 million jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030.” She’s currently polling at just under 4 percent, according to the Real Clear Politics average.
While Stein is unlikely to get even a single electoral vote, her call to prosecute Exxon for its stance on global warming has already been taken up by several Democratic states attorneys general.
New York AG Eric Schneiderman was the first state prosecutor to launch an investigation into Exxon based on allegations made by left-wing reporters at InsideClimate News and Columbia University the company “knew” of the dangers of global warming, but funded skeptic groups to mislead the public about climate science.
Massachusetts AG Maura Healey also launched an investigation into Exxon under her state’s consumer protection law – Even though Exxon does not operate in her state.
Exxon filed an injunction against her investigation in Texas court and Healey is trying to move the case to Massachusetts. It could be months before a ruling is made in this case.
U.S. Virgin Islands AG Claude Walker subpoenaed Exxon and the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), a libertarian think tank, earlier this year under his territory’s anti-racketeering law, but has since withdrawn both subpoenas.

She needs to explain exactly how the C02 acts to cause warming. If she is unable why we should share her faith held beliefs.
She can start by explaining why so many Canadians winter in Florida and Arizona.
Jill Stein is a kook.
Since the end of the last ice age, when Canada was under a mile of frozen water, there has been a dramatic, natural warming that has resulted in todays climate. This post ice age warming stalled about 10,000 years ago, resulting in temperatures that are lower than pervious interglacials (between ice ages). Since then temperatures have been both slightly warmer and slightly cooler than they are today.
During the Medieval warm period, about 1,000 years ago, it was warmer than it is today. About 400 years ago there was a cooling off known as the Little Ice Age, when the Themes river froze and crop failures resulted in widespread famine. Since then it has warmed back up. Nothing unnatural, dramatic, or worrying. For at least the past 18 years when CO2 levels have been rising there has been NO measurable temperature increase.
Beyond computer models, and some peoples vivid imaginations scientifically measurable runaway global warming does not exist. What doesn’t exist can’t have a cause or affect. And the affect can’t be mitigated through prosecution.
These climate kooks need to be turfed out of any and all positions of power, from city councils right to the top. Their superstitious beliefs have entered very dangerous territory and are as unscientific as is possible.
What happened to Dano?
Who cares? His absence is a blessing. We don’t have to endure the kook’s ramblings.
Stein is a real ding-bat fanatic. Bring it on.
Just more of the same Rhetoric about the climate change that is NOT happening……..
