The folly of industrial wind is nowhere more evident than in New York State, which for decades has gotten half of its electricity from clean nuclear plants and hydroelectric (dams). Thus, the $176 billion in wind subsidies (for which the wind companies spend $20 million a year on lobbying) is in reality a means to support the Ponzi scheme that enriches Big Wind, Big Banks, and Big Politicians. It is time to turn off the fan.
CFACT contributor Mary Kay Barton shows how wind farms re in reality tax farms that squeeze local residents out of tax dollars as they dramatically reduce the value of the farms in communities that were doing quite well before some of their elected officials sold out to gain fame and fortune from wind developers. Worse, wind projects are designed to lose money over their lifetimes, even without factoring in that actual lifetimes are about half of promised lifetimes.
If people wonder why the world is in the sad shape it is in, they need look no further than the neighbors stuck living within the massive footprints of dysfunctional wind factories. Sadly however, politicians, corrupt crony-corporatists and people getting wind scam royalties are choosing to ignore their neighbors.
