CFACT advisor Larry Bell asks the rhetorical question -- Will the climate fanatics tone down their rhetoric given the lack of evidence of climate catastrophe? Indeed, though nearly every single fear-filled prediction of theirs has failed to occur, they will not be shamed into silence as long as the worldwide "science" community enjoys the financial benefits of parroting the party line.
Greg Walcher, a former secretary of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, argues that forests provide the world’s greatest resource for cleaning CO2 out of the atmosphere. Rotting and fires themselves emit greenhouse gases, but atmospheric CO2 makes all plants grow faster and better and with improved tolerance to drought. Thus, it is vital that the U.S. must reverse policies that oppose logging, tree thinning, and other management necessary for healthy forests.
CFACT advisor Larry Bell celebrates the fact that the Earth's climate is very human friendly -- and polar bear friendly, too. The alarmism that has darkened our hearts for the past decades is no longer encouraged from the White House (as of January 20). Enjoy!
CFACT advisor Larry Bell calls out alarmists for twisting the truth about global temperatures and continuing to scare people into surrendering their economic prosperity to "save the planet" -- or, rather, create a global socialist world government.
It is hypocrisy to use RICO to prosecute ExxonMobil and others for the "crime" of opposing crippling regulations intended to shut down their business operations on political grounds. Indeed, if these politicized attorneys general are successful, then they may be further inspired to go after ordinary citizens.
Climate scientism aggressively misrepresents facts, refuses to discuss energy and climate issues with anyone who points out massive flaws in the man-made climate chaos hypothesis, bullies anyone who won’t condemn carbon dioxide, and brands them as equivalent to Holocaust Deniers.
CFACT advisor Larry Bell reports, "If there’s anything that climate crisis theology clerics hate more than fossil fuels, it’s got to be any glad tidings about CO2." New research shows that the switch to fossil fuels preserved more forests to exchange CO2 for oxygen and also returning plant fertilizer to grow more food in the bargain. Thus, any attempt to REDUCE CO2 is counterproductive, given that CO2 boosts water use efficiency.
The Obama Administration drive to eliminate U.S. use of fossil fuels is nothing short of insanity (or a devious plot to weaken the U.S. against foreign foes). The results of these policies will either be catastrophic destruction of American cropland, fuel rationing (and maybe even vehicle rationing), and economic collapse. Meanwhile, so-called "developing" countries will get a free pass so that the overall impact on the environment will likely be negative. But the politicians and their friends will get rich rewards and not be bound by the diktats they impose on others.
Dangerous manmade global cooling, global warming, climate change, and extreme weather claims continue to justify what has become a $1.5-trillion-per-year industry: tens of billions spent annually on one-sided research and hundreds of billions sent to crony corporatists to subsidize replacing dependable, affordable carbon-based fuels with unreliable, expensive “renewable” energy. Some 50 million acres of U.S. crop and habitat land (equal to Wyoming) have been turned into corn-for-ethanol farms, biofuel plantations, and wind and solar installations. American forests are being converted to fuel for British power plants. Towering turbines butcher birds and bats, while Big Wind is exempted from endangered species rules [...]
Although you may not wish to share a crowded elevator with a flatulent bovine friend, at least express a little gratitude that he/she is helping to protect the planet from dreaded global warming. A significant but media-ignored 2013 report published in the journal Nature concluded that livestock greenhouse gas “excretions” may tend to cool, not heat up, temperatures. Titled “Molecular understanding of sulphuric acid-amine particle nucleation in the atmosphere," the report concludes that the ammonia-laden content contributes in creating cloud cover which reflects daytime solar infrared energy back to space. Although the clouds also hold heat near the surface at night, [...]
The EPA is becoming notorious for faking its cost-benefit numbers to justify onerous, and environmentally useless, regulations that will impose billions of dollars in compliance costs, cost many jobs, and seriously weaken the U.S. economy -- that is, unless the federal courts shoot them down for failing to follow the law. From the Clean Power Plan's assault on life-giving carbon dioxide to particulate matter and methane and more, the EPA is shameless in using buddy-reviewed (rather than truly peer-reviewed) research (often hidden from even the oversight of Congress to avoid any scrutiny) and even anecdotal material to justify regulations with enormous economic consequences. This, says CFACT advisor Larry Bell, must stop.
Carbon dioxide levels are not at all high -- they have been much higher in the past. Indeed, we are very fortunate to be living at a time of relative warmth, rather than during a little or especially a full-on ice age. Some leading scholars believe we are on the verge of another cold period - one that would be exacerbated by any cuts in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. Meanwhile, demonizing this vital natural plant nutrient as pollution is not just absurd, it is anti-humanity.
A new briefing paper by Dr. Indur Goklany examines the World Health Organization’s recent report on climate change and finds that its estimates of future mortality from global warming are grossly exaggerated. “Because of its willful exaggerations,” says Goklany, “the WHO study risks scaring people into taking ill-considered costly actions to limit greenhouse gases rather than focusing on higher priority global health issues such as hunger, malaria, and diarrhoeal diseases, which can be addressed at a fraction of the cost.”
Marita Noon says that the European Union may appear to have reached a consensus agreement on carbon dioxide reductions, renewables use, and energy efficiency -- but the agreement includes a proviso that it only takes effect if all of the major carbon dioxide emitter countries become signatories to the non-treaty agreement that President Obama thinks he can make effective even without Senate confirmation.
World leaders -- other than Barack Obama -- are ignoring the United Nations as it tries very hard to promote the New York City climate conference as a major event. Meanwhile, President Obama and his coterie have been taking great pains not to alienate their antiwar base while plotting air strikes against the Islamic State that the President says is not Islamic.
