‘The United States refused to fall into line at the G7 Summit in Italy and went its own way on the UN’s Paris climate treaty/agreement.’

Will Trump keep his campaign promise and escape the UN climate deal?

The official statement declares that:

The U.S. “is in the process of reviewing its policies on climate change and on the Paris Agreement and thus is not in position to join the consensus on these topics.”

Keeping his nation’s options open is a stinging rebuke to foreign leaders who made a big effort to bring Trump into line on climate.

Trump tweeted that he will make a decision about the Paris Agreement next week.

The Paris agreement won’t change the climate one iota but it will make the US less competitive. The market should drive renewables NOT governments.
