Margaret Thatcher noted that the singular drawback to Socialism is that they eventually run out of other peoples money.

Winston Churchill was even more direct in his denunciation of Marxism: The inherent vice of Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

He also pointed out that Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy. Some wondered why he was so ambivalent.

Socialism, however, doesnt really share its inherent miseries with everyone. Those at the top, the Hitler’s, Stalin’s, Mao’s, Pol Pot’s and Castros, thrive off the misery of others.

As the leading candidates said during the 7-hour CNN special devoted to the climate change delusion, they want to decide what you drive, what you eat and what you read. They also want to provide sacred status to illegal aliens while undermining law enforcement officers, border guards and ICE agents. They want to disarm you, to assure little resistance to their sick philosophy

Someone once observed that you can ignore politics, but politics is never going to ignore you. So, with more than a dozen of these would-be totalitarians vying for the presidency, its best to know a few things about their creed.

It began with Karl Marx, whose manifesto was every bit as deranged as the Unabombers. The only difference between the two lunatics is that Marx didnt personally kill anyone. Instead, his disciples in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, China, Cambodia, Cuba and Venezuela, took care of that end of the business, murdering hundreds of millions along the way.

Socialists talk a good deal about all the free stuff theyre prepared to give to the masses, which is why poor people so often fall for it. That, after all, is the reason that our young people, brain-washed by the Liberals who control our schools, our media and our pop culture, are now declaring themselves Socialists. They are supporting the likes of Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Peter Buttigieg, and Kamala Harris.

Young people don’t trust our government, and with good reason, but they are prepared to trust these left-wing Pied Pipers to run things wisely and benevolently. The Socialists running for the Democratic nomination for President in 2020 have professed the ideology. Even if they do not put the correct name on it, they have openly advertised that they plan to destroy life as we know it. That can be the only result of their determination to end our nation’s dependence on fossil fuels. Each and every one of the major contenders made the movement to renewable energy, in order to end the existential threat of climate change, a major platform of their election strategy, as professed on the aforementioned CNN special.

Such Draconian action, can only be brought about by a socialist government that ends capitalism’s opportunity for individuals to do what they think will benefit society. Which in this case is the further development and use of our vast inexpensive, prolific, oil and natural gas resources. If you have a budding socialist youth in your midst it is past time to explain the destruction that a winning socialist candidate will wreak upon our nation by the elimination of fossil fuels. Undependable, expensive wind and solar farms as the future power for our nation will send us all back to life as our ancestors knew it in the middle of the 19th century.

Does it not appear ironic that the destruction of some of Saudi Arabia’s oil production last week by missiles thought to come from Iran, did not achieve cheering from all the anti fossil fuel groups in our nation? Instead the press and everyone else were wringing their hands over the potential increase of the price of gasoline at the pump. It appears they still worry about our economy. Just wait for what will result when they really try and replace our gas pumps with only wind turbines and solar farms. Of course this can not be done but on the way to its failure, we will pay a great price. Energy prices have already increased every where wind and solar have been put on our electric grid.

What college students and too many of their parents, even grandparents dont seem to understand is that the government, any government, doesnt make money, except in the sense that they own the printing presses. But of course, the more money a government prints, the less its worth, which is why our dollar has declined in value for centuries.

The only real money the government has is the money it takes from its productive citizens in order to re-distribute it, often among the unproductive. They commonly use it as bribes to get votes to stay in power.

Taxes are a necessary evil, and we can argue about how our money is spent, but at least we can argue about it. We can even vote the rascals out. Those are two liberties denied to those condemned to live in Socialist nations.

There is something, however, that can be defined as the voluntary re-distribution of money. We refer to it as charity. When money is seized from one group of people and handed over to another group, that isnt charity; it’s extortion.

Bernie Sanders, who has railed against the rich ever since he crawled out of his crib as a red diaper baby 70-odd years ago, is a millionaire. We don’t begrudge him. We are however incredulous that he allegedly made his fortune off book sales. But, we don’t think he has any business demeaning other rich people who choose to hang on to their own honestly-accumulated wealth.

In Capitalism, the customer is always right; in Socialist societies, hes always wrong. Its the government thats always right. And, as you may have noticed, the government, any government, every government, always has plenty of guns at its disposal.

Another built-in flaw with Socialism is that it tries to subvert human nature. No matter how much liars pretend that their ideal is equality—intentionally ignoring the basic differences in strength, intelligence, interests and ability, that exist between individuals—the truth is that people are born to compete. In prehistoric times, cavemen competed for cave women, being closest to the fire and the choicest parts of the T-Rexs carcass; today, they compete when it comes to sports, careers, sex, even for blue ribbons at flower shows. It is hard-wired into the human race to compete and to excel.

The question we would put to these young people who are so eager to elect someone who not only promises to magically erase their student debt and pay their medical expenses, but provide them with $1,000-a-month even if they dont wish to work. If youre too old to believe in Santa Claus, why on earth would you believe in Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris?
