Morano: Celebrate carbon energy, not the darkness!

CFACT's Marc Morano is a regular guest on "The Source," hosted by Ezra Levant on Canada's Sun News channel.  This time, Morano was asked to comment on "Earth Hour," a time when some environmental groups want all of us to turn off the lights and, as Morano says, "celebrate the darkness."  Morano explained to Levant that  the Obama Administration "wants to make affordable energy, more expensive," and they are taking significant action to ensure that energy costs continue to soar.  Some excerpts from his comments: "They are banning coal plants. One of the most moral [energy] choices we have is coal fired power in the [...]

The Keystone Kibosh: Marc Morano on Canadian TV

[March 9, 2012]  In the wake of  President Obama's decision to block construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to bring Canadian crude oil to refineries in Texas and Louisiana, Jerry Agar of Sun News (Canada) interviewed CFACT Communications Director Marc Morano.  Morano, who launched the Climate Depot website in 2009 and is a key player in CFACT's new "Real Energy, Not Green Energy" campaign, says the President is merely fulfilling his own promise to eliminate the use of carbon-based fuels in the United States that started with the cancellation of oil leases in Colorado, seized upon the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to cripple [...]

Morano on Canadian TV: Fighting climate billionaires

CFACT's Marc Morano, editor of the Climate Depot news and information service, appeared on the Canadian TV program, "The Source with Ezra Levant," on February 1 to discuss how rich foreigners spend huge sums of money to oppose cheap energy. The Rockefellers, Levant notes, spend $7 million a year just in Canada to fund legal challenges to development.

Battery maker ENER1 goes belly up

Appearing on the Neil Cavuto Show on Fox News, CFACT's Marc Morano laid the wood to the whole idea that government knows best in research and development.  Cavuto first presents President Obama making his case that, "We've got to invest in solar and wind and biofuels," and in another clip, "Government support is critical in helping businesses get new ideas off the ground." Morano first points out that 80% of the $80 billion in stimulus package loans through the Department of Energy went to Obama campaign donors and that many of these projects are now in or near bankruptcy.  One reason [...]

Hayhoe gets the heave-ho!

CFACT’s Morano on Sen. Inhofe’s growing influence

Marc Morano, editor of CFACT's Climate Depot website, was recently quoted in a National Journal article on Senator James Inhofe, the most vocal critic of global warming science and policy in the U.S. Senate. The following is an excerpt from the original article at National Journal: If Republicans control the Senate [after the 2012 elections], Inhofe will be more than chairman like he was under then-President George W. Bush from 2003 to 2006. He’ll be the leading voice in a chamber where the political consensus on climate change has splintered within the Republican Party. And in the absence of comprehensive climate [...]

Washington Post compares Climate Depot to Drudge Report

Marc Morano is CFACT's editor in chief of Climate Depot, and he has been garnering extensive coverage lately. Last week he was cited in the Washington Times. This week it's the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang and Fox Nation. Today, Andrew Freedman of the Washington Post described Climate Depot as "the climate skeptic equivalent of the Drudge Report." Yesterday, Marc Morano wrote a story about how Al Gore, self-proclaimed inventor of the internet, had his website crash because it could not handle all the traffic it received after Drudge linked to it. That story was quickly picked up by Fox News, [...]

CFACT’s Morano exposes anti-American climate extremist

The editor of CFACT's Climate Depot, Marc Morano, was recently cited in a Washington Times editorial: Last week, blogger Marc Morano discovered a Nov. 24 blog post by Mr. Hansen calling on China to lead an international effort to impose fees on carbon-dioxide emissions, then lead the World Trade Organization to allow import fees on goods from any county - with the U.S. being the target - without such fees. The goal would be to punish America, causing “continual descent into second-rate and third-rate economic well-being,” until the “fossil-money- ‘democracy’” no longer “rules the roost in Washington.” Mr. Hansen also praised [...]

Environmental scientist bails out of global warming movement

Physicist Dr. Denis Rancourt, a former professor and environmental science researcher at the University of Ottawa, has officially bailed out of the man-made global warming movement. In a hard-hitting and exclusive new exclusive video just released by Climate Depot, Dr. Rancourt declares that the entire man-made global warming movement is nothing more than a “corrupt social phenomenon.” “It is as much psychological and social phenomenon as anything else,” Rancourt, who has published peer-reviewed research, explained in a June 8, 2010 essay.“I argue that by far the most destructive force on the planet is power-driven financiers and profit-driven corporations and their cartels backed [...]

‘Scientific consensus’ should be put on the stand

An issue for which the science is supposedly "settled" by a complete "consensus" of scientists would seem to offer the perfect opportunity to win over a skeptical public once and for all. But look no further than global warming movement's effort to ignore the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's call to put the science on trial, involving cross-examinations, witnesses, and a judge to make a final ruling. Climate fear promoters, knowing that they will lose an open, honest public debate, fear a trial moreso. There are some important pieces of evidence that cast into serious doubt the case for manmade global warming. [...]

Climate Depot is impacting Obama’s climate initiative

The Washington Post's Andrew Freedman of paper's "The Capital Weather Gang", has written a thorough commentary on why he believes the man-made global warming movement is failing politically and scientifically to convince the public and lawmakers of the seriousness of the issue. Freedman appears to lay the fault directly at the feet of President Obama, writing that Obama's "mistakes may cost the planet dearly." Freedman also cites Climate Depot (and the Heartland Institute) as having made a huge impact in shaping lawmakers and the public's skeptical view of the latest climate science. Freedman wrote in a September 1, 2009 Washington Post essay [...]

Gore: U.S. climate bill to bring global governance

Former Vice President Al Gore declared that the Congressional climate bill will help bring about “global governance.” “I bring you good news from the U.S.," Gore said on July 7, 2009 in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times. “Just two weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill,” Gore said, noting it was “very much a step in the right direction.” President Obama has pushed for the passage of the bill in the Senate and attended a G8 summit this week where he agreed to attempt to keep the [...]
