CFACT’s Morano exposes anti-American climate extremist

The editor of CFACT's Climate Depot, Marc Morano, was recently cited in a Washington Times editorial: Last week, blogger Marc Morano discovered a Nov. 24 blog post by Mr. Hansen calling on China to lead an international effort to impose fees on carbon-dioxide emissions, then lead the World Trade Organization to allow import fees on goods from any county - with the U.S. being the target - without such fees. The goal would be to punish America, causing “continual descent into second-rate and third-rate economic well-being,” until the “fossil-money- ‘democracy’” no longer “rules the roost in Washington.” Mr. Hansen also praised [...]

Climate Depot grabs spotlight for coverage of violent climate video

Marc Morano of CFACT's Climate Depot has been widely cited in the media this week. In the above video, Morano appeared on Fox News to discuss the violent climate change video recently released by the environmental group 10:10. In this video (you can watch the full version here, but be warned it is very graphic), a classroom of students are asked whether they plan to reduce their carbon footprints.  The few who dissent are murdered by their teacher – covering their classmates in blood.  Viewers are then treated to a repeat of this gory spectacle in business, sports and media settings. [...]

CFACT’s Climate Depot has been honored with its third award in 2010. In February, Climate Depot won the  Accuracy in Media Award which was presented at CPAC. Climate Depot was also honored in June with the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness’ 2010 Petr Beckmann Award for “demonstrating courage and achievement in defense of scientific truth and freedom.” In August, Climate Depot has now been inducted into the “Townhall of Fame.”  Townhall honored Climate Depot Executive Editor Marc Morano for “taking on the climate change movement and leaving a trail of discredited left-wing science in his wake.” Full article is here.

Environmental scientist bails out of global warming movement

Physicist Dr. Denis Rancourt, a former professor and environmental science researcher at the University of Ottawa, has officially bailed out of the man-made global warming movement. In a hard-hitting and exclusive new exclusive video just released by Climate Depot, Dr. Rancourt declares that the entire man-made global warming movement is nothing more than a “corrupt social phenomenon.” “It is as much psychological and social phenomenon as anything else,” Rancourt, who has published peer-reviewed research, explained in a June 8, 2010 essay.“I argue that by far the most destructive force on the planet is power-driven financiers and profit-driven corporations and their cartels backed [...]

Marc Morano receives award

Marc Morano recently received an award for his work as editor of CFACT's Climate Depot website, which provides comprehensive information on breaking climate news and related environmental issues. The Petr Beckmann award was presented to Morano by Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP).  Jane Orient, the president of DDP, said the award is "given to those who speak out courageously, even though it might be politically incorrect, to support the truth that is essential for our progress in science. Our recipient this year has been particularly effective in winning victories in this field." Not everyone was happy about the commendation, however.  Leo [...]

CFACT’s Morano responds on ABC News hit story

In a not-so-subtle attempt to malign the character of global warming skeptics, ABC News recently aired a report investigating alleged “death threats” and other acts of intimidation brought against climate change scientists by white supremacist groups and attempted to link them to the criticisms leveled at these scientists by global warming critics.  The ABC story, perhaps not coincidentally, was aired shortly after the Fourth International Conference on Climate Change in Chicago this past week, an event where hundreds of climate change scientists and experts gather each year to share findings which contradict the assessments of the U.N. and environmentalist organizations regarding [...]

‘How the mighty have fallen!’

Michael Mann, creator of the infamous "hockey stick" graph isn't amused by a YouTube satire video featuring the refrain "hide the decline," a quote from the Climategate emails.  He's threatened to sue the video's creators. Marc Morano, editor of CFACT's award winning ClimateDepot appeared on FoxNews to discuss.Marc was asked whether he thought Mann could prove that the point the satire was making was not true.  "I don't think he can," Morano replied. "I mean, this just goes to show you how the mighty have fallen. Michael Mann was a top U.N. scientist who is now in 2010 spending his time [...]

Accuracy in Media, a citizens' media watchdog organization, awarded CFACT's own Marc Morano the Reed Irvine Accuracy in Media Award on Thursday. "I am thrilled to recognize ... Marc Morano's excellent reporting on the ClimateGate scandal that exposed the politicized science behind claims that the science is settled on global warming," said Don Irvine, chairman of Accuracy in Media. Accuracy in Media's mission is to promote fairness, balance, and accuracy in news reporting.  Founded in 1969, AIM is America's first non-profit press watchdog group. Al Gore: Junk science huckster

House Global Warming Subcommittee Chairman Ed Markey (D-MA) was outraged that a renegade freelance lobbyist had sent a dozen phony letters to members of Congress, urging them to vote against cap-and-trade legislation. Congress will not tolerate “forgery and identity theft” in attempting to influence the passage of legislation, members solemnly intoned. The letters misled Congress and imperiled its integrity and deliberative process. Few Americans would disagree. But after their usual pontificating, the Democrats once again proved that, if they didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards. Mr. Markey and his big-D colleagues excoriated the guilty parties they had summoned [...]

‘Scientific consensus’ should be put on the stand

An issue for which the science is supposedly "settled" by a complete "consensus" of scientists would seem to offer the perfect opportunity to win over a skeptical public once and for all. But look no further than global warming movement's effort to ignore the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's call to put the science on trial, involving cross-examinations, witnesses, and a judge to make a final ruling. Climate fear promoters, knowing that they will lose an open, honest public debate, fear a trial moreso. There are some important pieces of evidence that cast into serious doubt the case for manmade global warming. [...]

Climate Depot is impacting Obama’s climate initiative

The Washington Post's Andrew Freedman of paper's "The Capital Weather Gang", has written a thorough commentary on why he believes the man-made global warming movement is failing politically and scientifically to convince the public and lawmakers of the seriousness of the issue. Freedman appears to lay the fault directly at the feet of President Obama, writing that Obama's "mistakes may cost the planet dearly." Freedman also cites Climate Depot (and the Heartland Institute) as having made a huge impact in shaping lawmakers and the public's skeptical view of the latest climate science. Freedman wrote in a September 1, 2009 Washington Post essay [...]

Gore: U.S. climate bill to bring global governance

Former Vice President Al Gore declared that the Congressional climate bill will help bring about “global governance.” “I bring you good news from the U.S.," Gore said on July 7, 2009 in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times. “Just two weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill,” Gore said, noting it was “very much a step in the right direction.” President Obama has pushed for the passage of the bill in the Senate and attended a G8 summit this week where he agreed to attempt to keep the [...]

Climate Depot in the news

Marc Morano, the editor in chief of CFACT’s groundbreaking new website ClimateDepot.com, has been stirring up quite a fuss lately reporting all the latest news and developments in the fight against global warming alarmists like Al Gore.  Morano has been cited by three major news outlets in as many days.  On July 7, Sean Hannity of FOX News cited ClimateDepot.com and gave this comment: “Al Gore may have some explaining to do. It's been over three years since his global warming propaganda film hit theaters and, since that time, ClimateDepot.com reports that the Earth's temperature has actually dropped.” In an article [...]
