A short, politically incorrect climate conversation

CFACT Advisor Larry Bell tells of a conversation on an airplane flight with a disciple of Al Gore regarding climate change.

Three facts prove climate alarm is a scam

1988 was a barn-burner year for climate alarmists. Then-Sen. Al Gore’s steamy congressional hearing trumpeted a planet on fire, and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was created to produce pseudo-scientific evidence blaming it on unfair capitalist industrial prosperity-spawned CO2 emissions. Canadian Environment Minister Christine Stewart explained the real cause for urgency. She told editors and reporters of the Calgary Herald, “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony . . . climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.” Stewart was wrong. Consequences of that phony science upon [...]

How corrupt is government climate science?

Many have suspected that U.S. political intervention in climate science has corrupted the outcome. The new emergence of an old 1995 document from the U.S. State Department to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change confirms those suspicions, or at least gives the allegation credence enough to ask questions.

Base climate policies on reality, not deceit

Dangerous manmade global cooling, global warming, climate change, and extreme weather claims continue to justify what has become a $1.5-trillion-per-year industry: tens of billions spent annually on one-sided research and hundreds of billions sent to crony corporatists to subsidize replacing dependable, affordable carbon-based fuels with unreliable, expensive “renewable” energy. Some 50 million acres of U.S. crop and habitat land (equal to Wyoming) have been turned into corn-for-ethanol farms, biofuel plantations, and wind and solar installations. American forests are being converted to fuel for British power plants. Towering turbines butcher birds and bats, while Big Wind is exempted from endangered species rules [...]

On climate change, Catholic leaders must believe in miracles

While Catholic leaders, led by Pope Francis, are focused on curbing global warming (aka curbing the use of fossil fuels) as the most urgent means of combating poverty, the facts are that cheap, reliable energy and access to jobs and markets is what the poor need most. And, not surprisingly, the poor know it -- ranking "climate change" the LEAST important concern in their lives, with food and education at the top.

The climate alarm industry is scientifically bankrupt

Increasingly, pub lic policy is becoming the captive of a new scientific-technological elite that produces fatally flawed research that seeks not the truth but rather to sculpt data that fit their theory of the world. Indeed, many scientific journals have been publishing bogus studies which reference nonexistent data. A primary reason is that most climate research funding comes from public alarm-dependent agenda-driven government sponsors and their Green activist acolytes.

Record keepers cooked global temperature books

We are learning that quite possibly the entire "global warming" movement is based on the falsification of actual temperature records by scientists who have systematically replaced real temperatures with computer-generated temperatures that more closely fit their grossly flawed climate models. This level of deceit -- which has been rewarded with billions upon billions of dollars by politicians and nonprofit billionaires alike -- means that the entire history of "climate change" is about as reliable as predicting the winners of horse races a month down the road.

Vilifying realist science – and scientists

CFACT Senior Policy Advisor Paul Driessen shines the light of financial truth on those who have viciously attacked Harvard scientist Dr. Willie Soon and other authors of a devastating new report, published in the January 2015 Science Bulletin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which concluded that, once discrepancies in IPCC computer models are taken into account, the impact of CO2-driven manmade global warming over the next century (and beyond) is likely to be “no more than one-third to one-half of the IPCC’s current projections.” Because these well-heeled "made men" scientists cannot attack the evidence, they are reduced to killing the messengers -- showing that the billions and billions of dollars spent -- including money funneled from Putin's Russia -- to hide these truths and buy off or bludgeon dissent from the party line is not working out that well.

A global carbon tax?

President Obama may be planning to sock his fellow citizens with a global tax on carbon dioxide imposed via a United Nations agreement known as a "soft law," one that technically does not require or even solicit Senate approval. The pathway toward this Lilliputian tax -- in which small, poor nations seek to siphon off much of the wealth of the American people -- began when President George H. W. Bush signed off on Agenda 21 at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. The assault on our liberties continues.

The IPCC report indicates Typhoon Haiyan was made by nature not man. Yeb Sano should have skipped his hunger strike and tried the pierogies in Warsaw.

New paper faults World Health Organization’s willful exaggeration

A new briefing paper by Dr. Indur Goklany examines the World Health Organization’s recent report on climate change and finds that its estimates of future mortality from global warming are grossly exaggerated. “Because of its willful exaggerations,” says Goklany, “the WHO study risks scaring people into taking ill-considered costly actions to limit greenhouse gases rather than focusing on higher priority global health issues such as hunger, malaria, and diarrhoeal diseases, which can be addressed at a fraction of the cost.”

Why 2014 Won’t Be the Warmest Year on Record

Why are the surface thermometer data used to the exclusion of our best technology — satellites — when tracking global temperatures? Because they better support the narrative of a dangerously warming planet.

Environment benefits from free enterprise prosperity

The biggest problem isn’t that the Earth has too many rich people, or too many people altogether. Rather, is that there are so many poor tragic victims of largely UN-orchestrated, climate-crisis premised, anti-carbon energy starvation policies.

New peer-reviewed paper: UN overestimated climate sensitivity to CO2

The extreme scenarios put forth at the New York climate summit continue to be revealed as fantasy. A new research paper concludes that climate sensitivity to CO2 is far less than the UN proclaimed.
