Stealth advocacy on climate change: A catastrophic failure of science

By Calvin Beisner The planet is doomed unless humans achieve zero net “carbon” emissions within 40 years—and maybe even if we do. That’s the word from 11 co-authors, led by Johan Rockstöm of the Stockholm Resilience Centre, of a pseudo-scientific screed published August 24 in Earth’s Future, an open-access online journal of the American Geophysical Union. Here’s the abstract: The scale of the decarbonisation challenge to meet the Paris Agreement is underplayed in the public arena. It will require precipitous emission reductions and a new carbon sink on the scale of the ocean sink within 40 years. Even then, the world is [...]

A UN and tribal takeover?

By Lawrence Kogan A massive 792-page Senate Energy Committee bill threatens to authorize federal bureaucrats to cede extensive control over Western states' water and property rights, energy development, and forest management to Native American tribes, local UN sustainability councils, and radical environmentalist groups. Certain provisions could undermine the foundations of our nation from within our nation. S.2012, the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act of 2016, incorporates some 393 amendments. Incredibly, it is being driven forward by U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and other Members of Congress behind closed doors. Probably very few have read the bill in its entirety. Virtually [...]

America blighted by industrial wind

The folly of industrial wind is nowhere more evident than in New York State, which for decades has gotten half of its electricity from clean nuclear plants and hydroelectric (dams). Thus, the $176 billion in wind subsidies (for which the wind companies spend $20 million a year on lobbying) is in reality a means to support the Ponzi scheme that enriches Big Wind, Big Banks, and Big Politicians. It is time to turn off the fan.

When will Africa get healthy and prosperous?

A cynical coalition of environmentalists and corrupt dictators and bureaucrats is working overtime to keep most Africans (except themselves) poor and malnourished, without jobs or even access to modern medical care. Steven Lyazi asks when politicians and activists will stop pontificating about saving the environment and start saving the lives of Africa's people?

Real world energy and climate

Weather Channel founder John Coleman has a lot to say about debunking or just ignoring the wild claims of environmentalists -- and instead enjoying the real benefits that our civilization has brought us and the many more that will emerge over time -- that will do much more to improve our environment than curbing life-giving carbon dioxide.

Suing into submission

According to Mark Twain, “Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.” Now six state attorney generals (AG) have banded together to do something about it by initiating governmental legal prosecution. Can a modern “Reign of Terror” be far behind? These AGs claim a climate conspiracy implying that investors are unaware that climate changes may impact corporate investments, and have committed to using the power of the state to solve it. In early November 2015, Exxon Mobil was targeted by New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman pursuing a legal case based on claimed similarities to the [...]

The Big Green job-killing machine

The Center for Biological Diversity -- an offshoot of the violent radical group Earth First!, -- has been systematically using the Endangered Species Act to shut down jobs in the timber, mining, and other industries that once were major job suppliers in Western States. Worse, federal judges have been going along with this unwarranted taking of property and income for decades. It is time that this stops.

‘Green’ evangelicals disguise anti-life policies as pro-life, perpetuating suffering and death

By E. Calvin Beisner, Janice Shaw Crouse, and Austin Ruse The evangelical “creation care” movement professes to be pro-life and, for the most part, rightly so. But some creation care advocates give reason to wonder. Case in point: the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) recently launched a “Pro-Life Clean Energy Campaign,” promising to “organize half a million pro-life Christians to participate” in efforts to curb pollution by demanding a switch from fossil fuels to wind and solar. It calls this campaign “pro-life” and says it will “free our children from pollution all across America with 100% clean electricity from renewable resources by [...]

Everything you need to know about The Supreme Court after Scalia

Antonin Scalia was a careful steward of the U.S. Constitution throughout his career. May he rest in peace. Through the Constitution the people tell their government "this far may you go, but no further." Justice Scalia worked to keep government within its lawful bounds during an era of dangerous executive overreach. Now what?
